Where I live, in Dubai, the weather is extremely hot now and SPF is a must for the skin! Which is why, i’m in search for an SPF hydrating primer. I know it sounds kinda strange… but I really need a one stop shop to protect my skin, give enough hydration, and keep my makeup on for a good amount of time.
The primers which I initially wanted to try out were the Too Faced Hangover primer, and the marc jacobs primer because they both just seem really hydrating. I’ve tried the Nyx Angel Veil primer, which is pretty nice, but its not that great for the skin in the long run.
I found that Smashbox has an SPF primer, as does Nars, and Shseido. However, i have no idea which ones are actually worth it, and if they’re even hydrating enough for the day. I’d rather have a skincare based primer than one that is filled with parabens and silicone.. so its been a bit difficult to find this product as of now. Does anyone have any suggestions or product recommendations?
Thank you for reading! I hope you have a great day 🙂
Hello everyone! I thought to share a little about the kind of essentials that keep me motivated and inspired when I’m in a creative rut or just need to put myself in a positive mind frame/vibe for having a better day or owning my day. I just came off my spring break from University, so you can imagine that I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. Ah, if only spring breaks were a little longer 😀

I like skincare to be very light, moisturizing and gentle on my skin, and that’s exactly the kind of skincare Im able to find at Kiehl’s. I started off using their avacado eye cream, and it really has moisturized my under eye are. It feels very creamy and absorbs into the skin quickly.
The ultra facial moisturizer is for all skin types, and I can understand why. It’s heavy at first but absorbs right into the skin, and leaves it soft and moisturized for the whole day. It also smells very sweet and natural. Sometimes I can use it as a primer for my makeup as well because it’s the perfect consistency to apply before makeup.

Rose Clay Mask
Drink Up Intensive Mask
GinZing Face Wash
On a day when I feel my skin isn’t looking its best, or maybe needs some extra love, I always set out some time to make my skin feel fresh. By doing so, not only do I feel fresh and renewed, but my skin also feels new. I start off by completely cleaning my skin with a cotton round drenched in Bioderma. Then, i’ll wash my face with the fabulous Origins GinZing face scrub with a puffy sea foam sponge or my hands. It smells very fruity and citrusy, which I love. After that, I’ll choose a face mask to let my skin enjoy for about 10-20 minutes. I usually either apply the Origins Rose Clay mask, their 10-minute Aloe Vera mask or their Drink up Intensive mask (which is an overnight mask as well). Then, while the mask does its magic, I’ll use a body butter on the rest of my skin. Right now i’m loving using The Body Shop butters, so i’ll apply generous amounts of either fuji green tea or mango butter on my legs and arms. By now, my mask is ready to wash off, so i’ll wash it off and apply a good amount of lip balm to feel completely refreshed and calm.
