Pat McGrath / Mattetrance Lipsticks

Pat McGrath Mattetrance Lipsticks

Left: Flesh 3 (medium nude)

Right: Mcmenamy (Dark Plum)

I’m sure you’ve heard of Pat McGrath, the wonderful, by now. I don’t know why I just recently found out about her, but good things are worth the wait. Pat is a world famous celebrity makeup artist known for her fashion forward, innovative and creative looks. Heard of shimmering glitter red lips? That’s Pat!

I wanted to test out some of her products, so I started with the product I love most – think. Lipstick. Personally, I’d rather have a lipstick than an eyeshadow or anything else. It took me quite some time to choose which colors I wanted, but I knew I wanted a mid tone nude for myself as well as some sort of berry tone.

Flesh 3 and Mcmenamy are, respectively, a rosey mid tone nude and a plummy berry dark pink. I don’t usually gravitate towards nudes because I prefer a brighter more pink color, but I’m on the hunt for my perfect nude. I have to say, Flesh 3 comes very very close. It’s a browny pink with slight peach tones, basically its a wonderful brick color. I have a medium skin tone, around Mac NC35 or Tarte Shape Tape Medium. If you were lighter, this color would be much more brown and deep on you. On the other hand, it would be a light peachy brown on darker skin.

Mcmenamy is a great mix of purple plum, cherry red and bright pink if you sheer it out. It’s quite dark and vampy, so its perfect for fall or any other day. I found that this color was just a bit patchier than Flesh 3, but that would be because this tone is harder to develop. Sheered out, its quite pretty.

As for the formula and packaging, I’ve never seen or felt anything like it. Its interesting, the matte formula feels a bit like a powder to the touch, but once applied it feels creamy. Also, the formula is extremely pigmented. I barely have to touch the bullet to my lip and the color is fully applied in one stroke. I’ve yet to wear it for a very long time, but so far it is a long wear formula. The bullet is extraordinary! The front face of the lipstick is always parallel to the front of the lipstick bullet. Beautiful!

Tati Beauty / Finally!

Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Volume I

Tati Beauty is here! Tati Westbrook is a beauty YouTuber I’ve been following since I first started obsessing over watching makeup videos. I wantedto learn and be inspired, and that’s where I found Glam Life Guru’s channel. Tati is a very unique YouTuber because she thinks of her subscribers first. And it shows. She posts quality content almost every day! You can see how passionate she is about makeup and skincare just by watching one video, so if Tati says something is good, it’s great. I, personally, trust her. To hear that she came out with her own makeup line (Tati Beauty), I can honestly say I shed a tear of pride for her. Her first palette, an embodiment of Tati, is a neutrals palette with 6 shades in 4 unique finishes. Each shade works with the other, and each row/column works diagonally or vertically. Not to mention those beautiful glitter shades which look like dancing diamonds. Wow. Why has this never been done before? And can we talk about how this is only palette 1 out of 30?

I can’t wait to test out and form my own opinion on this palette when it arrives, but the reviews are nothing short of great. Tati Beauty will reshape the makeup industry as we know it. Good luck Tati!

My Favorite Lipgloss Formulas! 2017

My Favorite Lipgloss Formulas! 2017

I’ve always loved lip glosses a lot, maybe even more than a matte lip. This year, I found that the lipgloss trend is really coming back, and that makes so oh-so delighted inside. The only thing that bothers me about lip glosses is that they don’t stay on the lips long enough at all, so you have to keep re-applying them. Otherwise, they look amazing in photos cause they give your lips a beautiful sheen, and they make your lips look healthy and juicy. These are some of my favorite formulas that I’ve found.

Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar

Are you thinking about getting the Charlotte Tilbury advent calendar? Well I’m very new to trying out the charlotte tilbury products, and i wanted a sample of her brand in the most convenient way possible. I got this Naught and Nice Magic Box for 150 pounds (which is about 750 DHS) from

The full size items in this box are:

  • Matte Revolution Lipstick in Walk of Shame
  • Eyes to mesmerize in Jean (cream shadow pot)
  • Lip lustre lip gloss in unleash me
  • Color chameleon in Mesmerizing mink (cream shadow stick)

The mini items:

  • Full Fat Lashes mascara
  • rock n kohl eyeliner in Amber Moon
  • Goddess skin clay mask
  • wonder glow
  • magic cream
  • supermodel body
  • eye makeup remover
  • Multi-miracle glow cleanser, balm, and mask

For me, I wanted to try out her skincare just as much as i wanted to try out her makeup so it made sense to me considering two of her skincare products together would be the same price as the box. I wanted to try the magic cream, the goddess skin clay mask, wonder glow, her lipstick, the cream shadow pot, the color chameleon, the mascara, and the eyeliner.

I don’t have a complete review of all the products quite yet, but I thought i’d mention that I really do like the magic cream and it seems to last a good amount of time considering its a mini product. I also know that i will absolutely repurchase the walk of shame lipstick because the color is a perfect rose bud color for anyone and the texture is so comfortable for a matte. The eyeliner is very gel like and creamy so its also a favorite. I love using the eyes to mesmerize in Jean in my inner corners because it sets into place really well and has amazing pigmentation. I’m yet to try the other products, but i have no doubts that they will meet my expectations. If not, ill be sure to mention it.

Have you guys tried Charlotte Tilbury products? I’d really love to know your thoughts!

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette! My thoughts?

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette! My thoughts?

So… the infamous jaclyn hill x Morphe palette… I really do have a lot to say about it after playing with it for a few weeks and really testing it out. I knew as soon as it came out that I needed it because I honestly do think that Jaclyn knows how to make good products. This is quickly become one of my favorite go-to palettes now, and ill tell you why:

  • IT IS PIGMENTED – when i say its pigmented i mean it packs a punch with the tiniest amount of shadow on the brush, and its the same for every single color in the palette.
  • IT IS CREAMY – Theres no doubt that the shimmer shades are so creamy they could be foiled shadows if you add fixed plus, but the mattes are also super creamy and blend-able!
  • LONG WEARING- These shadows are the kind of shadows that almost stain the lids from being so pigmented and long wearing, which im ok with because they come off very easily with makeup remover as well. Without a primer, they seem to last a really long time on me as well – from day till night.
  • BEAUTIFUL JEWEL TONES – I love having jewel tones in an all in one kind of palette, because jewel tones are wearable on everyone plus they’re really vibrant and mesmerizing.  The jewel tones in the palette are: Royal Blue, Deep Purple, Aqua Blue, Jade Green, Bottle Green, Gold, Rose Gold.
  • WARM TONES – everyone loves warm tones right now, so i appreciate that there are so many shades of warm tones from mustard to red to brown. Along with warm tones there definitely are neutral tones too!

Needless to say, im falling for this palette. It makes me excited when i look at it and play around with it, and I cant wait to create some unique looks with it!

Have you guys tried this palette? 🙂

Summer/Travel Essentials 2017!

Summer/Travel Essentials 2017!

Screen Shot 2017-08-13 at 1.13.05 AM

Its been months since i’ve done a good blog post, and I can honestly say i’ve missed doing it so much! Even though im physically on “vacation” and have no obligations to think about .. I still always feel that I need to be blogging and enjoying the process.

This summer I’ve really found myself going for a more minimalistic look for my makeup (which basically means no eyeliner and almost no mascara), but in saying that I found a routine that really worked for me, and the easy look I wanted for summer. First of, without question, I must prep my skin. That prep-step can be different depending on my skins needs or my laziness. If i feel i need an extra something for a long day out ill always apply sunscreen and moisturizer (all in one product of course), and I always add a facial spray every day. The one I’ve really fallen in love with is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir for so many reasons! For summer, it has the most amazing cooling minty sensation on the face, and it smells unlike anything else.. its so calming and beautiful. The mist itself is also nice to spray, which makes the product even nicer!

My next step is to do my brows… somewhere along the way i picked up the need and want to fill in my brows. Im so glad I did! It makes a world of a difference just to have your brows on point. The brow pencil im loving right now is the NYX micro brow in Espresso. I have very black hair and a medium skin tone, so this warm dark brow pencil is perfect and it lasts a long time too.

Next up, I must apply blush. I would say blush is my secret weapon of choice … its magical. A little blush can change the way you appear and feel within seconds of a pink swoosh. I’m really liking the Essence Satin Blush right now, because it gives a subtle sheen and its a brightening pink shade for me.

After blush, I usually like to add a tint of a bright color to my lips, and right now I’m testing out the new Dior Addict Lip Tattoo. Now, i really do like this product it gives me that intense color i want while camouflaging into my actual lip color, but I find the lip tattoo is not so budge proof when it comes to the food test. Maybe I haven’t mastered how to wear it yet, but it hasn’t lasted very long for me the few times i tried it. It is, however a beautiful color (all of them are), very easy to wear, and almost hydrating. If i’m not wearing a tint, I’m mostly wearing a pretty gloss.

Last, but not least, I love wearing a simple eye look with just a few coats of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara (a holy grail product). Let me tell you… this mascara is everything I need! It lengthens, holds a curl, keeps my lashes looking and feeling natural, and is easy to remove – but doesn’t smudge off.

Thats a wrap on my summer essentials! What are your summer must haves? 🙂

In search of a product: Primer!

Where I live, in Dubai, the weather is extremely hot now and SPF is a must for the skin! Which is why, i’m in search for an SPF hydrating primer. I know it sounds kinda strange… but I really need a one stop shop to protect my skin, give enough hydration, and keep my makeup on for a good amount of time.

The primers which I initially wanted to try out were the Too Faced Hangover primer, and the marc jacobs primer because they both just seem really hydrating. I’ve tried the Nyx Angel Veil primer, which is pretty nice, but its not that great for the skin in the long run.

I found that Smashbox has an SPF primer, as does Nars, and Shseido. However, i have no idea which ones are actually worth it, and if they’re even hydrating enough for the day. I’d rather have a skincare based primer than one that is filled with parabens and silicone.. so its been a bit difficult to find this product as of now. Does anyone have any suggestions or product recommendations?

Thank you for reading! I hope you have a great day 🙂
