Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette! My thoughts?

So… the infamous jaclyn hill x Morphe palette… I really do have a lot to say about it after playing with it for a few weeks and really testing it out. I knew as soon as it came out that I needed it because I honestly do think that Jaclyn knows how to make good products. This is quickly become one of my favorite go-to palettes now, and ill tell you why:

  • IT IS PIGMENTED – when i say its pigmented i mean it packs a punch with the tiniest amount of shadow on the brush, and its the same for every single color in the palette.
  • IT IS CREAMY – Theres no doubt that the shimmer shades are so creamy they could be foiled shadows if you add fixed plus, but the mattes are also super creamy and blend-able!
  • LONG WEARING- These shadows are the kind of shadows that almost stain the lids from being so pigmented and long wearing, which im ok with because they come off very easily with makeup remover as well. Without a primer, they seem to last a really long time on me as well – from day till night.
  • BEAUTIFUL JEWEL TONES – I love having jewel tones in an all in one kind of palette, because jewel tones are wearable on everyone plus they’re really vibrant and mesmerizing.ย  The jewel tones in the palette are: Royal Blue, Deep Purple, Aqua Blue, Jade Green, Bottle Green, Gold, Rose Gold.
  • WARM TONES – everyone loves warm tones right now, so i appreciate that there are so many shades of warm tones from mustard to red to brown. Along with warm tones there definitely are neutral tones too!

Needless to say, im falling for this palette. It makes me excited when i look at it and play around with it, and I cant wait to create some unique looks with it!

Have you guys tried this palette? ๐Ÿ™‚

Summer/Travel Essentials 2017!

Screen Shot 2017-08-13 at 1.13.05 AM

Its been months since i’ve done a good blog post, and I can honestly say i’ve missed doing it so much! Even though im physically on “vacation” and have no obligations to think about .. I still always feel that I need to be blogging and enjoying the process.

This summer I’ve really found myself going for a more minimalistic look for my makeup (which basically means no eyeliner and almost no mascara), but in saying that I found a routine that really worked for me, and the easy look I wanted for summer. First of, without question, I must prep my skin. That prep-step can be different depending on my skins needs or my laziness. If i feel i need an extra something for a long day out ill always apply sunscreen and moisturizer (all in one product of course), and I always add a facial spray every day. The one I’ve really fallen in love with is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir for so many reasons! For summer, it has the most amazing cooling minty sensation on the face, and it smells unlike anything else.. its so calming and beautiful. The mist itself is also nice to spray, which makes the product even nicer!

My next step is to do my brows… somewhere along the way i picked up the need and want to fill in my brows. Im so glad I did! It makes a world of a difference just to have your brows on point. The brow pencil im loving right now is the NYX micro brow in Espresso. I have very black hair and a medium skin tone, so this warm dark brow pencil is perfect and it lasts a long time too.

Next up, I must apply blush. I would say blush is my secret weapon of choice … its magical. A little blush can change the way you appear and feel within seconds of a pink swoosh. I’m really liking the Essence Satin Blush right now, because it gives a subtle sheen and its a brightening pink shade for me.

After blush, I usually like to add a tint of a bright color to my lips, and right now I’m testing out the new Dior Addict Lip Tattoo. Now, i really do like this product it gives me that intense color i want while camouflaging into my actual lip color, but I find the lip tattoo is not so budge proof when it comes to the food test. Maybe I haven’t mastered how to wear it yet, but it hasn’t lasted very long for me the few times i tried it. It is, however a beautiful color (all of them are), very easy to wear, and almost hydrating. If i’m not wearing a tint, I’m mostly wearing a pretty gloss.

Last, but not least, I love wearing a simple eye look with just a few coats of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara (a holy grail product). Let me tell you… this mascara is everything I need! It lengthens, holds a curl, keeps my lashes looking and feeling natural, and is easy to remove – but doesn’t smudge off.

Thats a wrap on my summer essentials! What are your summer must haves? ๐Ÿ™‚

Essentials.

Hello everyone! I thought to share a little about the kind of essentials that keep me motivated and inspired when I’m in a creative rut or just need to put myself in a positive mind frame/vibe for having a better day or owning my day. I just came off my spring break from University, so you can imagine that I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. Ah, if only spring breaks were a little longer ๐Ÿ˜€

Drinking From a Copper Jug?

So I heard about these myths and facts about drinking from a copper jug, and they seemed very closely tied to old traditions in Asia. I found one in my closest Carrefour ( A supermarket), and thought I’d get one to try it out for myself. Even if it doesn’t have amazing properties, it still looks really modern and beautiful on your table. Of, course I had to research the said benefits of the jug, and this is what I found:

My Everyday Makeup Style

I know that the trend these days is for everyone to have on a full face of makeup and show their skills to the best of their abilities.. I mean what is makeup without a full on winged liner, contour, and of course a whole lot of highlighter? Personally, I don’t have anything against that kind of look at all because it’s a beautiful look! However, on an everyday basis I can’t get myself to stick to such a look because of how time consuming and staticย it looks for my routine.

The makeup I like to wear is pretty minimalistic, although some might argue its too much as well. I like to start off with, of course, prepping my skin with a hydrating moisturizer and sunscreen to add that natural glow and luminosity to my face. Sometimes just putting on a cream in the morning is what wakes up my face. Then, I like to add a pop of blush around my cheekbones to add dimension and a flush of color and life. Sometimes I like to add a lip color as well, so I opt for either a really long wearing lipstick or a liquid lipstick.

Ouai Wave Spray | Review

I’m not passionate about hair care in the way that i am about makeup and art, but I had to try out this wave spray purely because it’s created by one of the best hairstylist in the business: Jen Atkin. Whoever gets their hair done by Jen or tries out her products instantly falls in love with their hair and the magical abilities her products have. Personally, I don’t like the feeling of hair spray or stiffness to my hair because it feels unnatural to me. The wave spray has a lot of ingredients that do the job well, especially the rice protein which helps lock the waves into place. Another one of the reasons why I really wanted to give this spray a go was because it has no parabens and isn’t tested on animals.
